Blankets and Shoes

I've been sewing for Evan's baby. So far, I haven't made anything but blankets and shoes. Lots and lots of blankets and shoes. Fleece blankets. Flannel blankets. Cotton quilts. Cow-jumping-over-the-moon shoes. Frog shoes. Ladybug shoes.

Um...what's wrong with this picture?

Well, when you open the blankets, the baby is NAKED! Except for her shoes, of course.

I've got to move on to gowns and sleepers and onesies and the stuff babies really need. But first...I've got an idea for bumblebee shoes that would be so cute.

While you're sewing...the thing I remembered loving the most for my daughter were those baby sleeping gowns, like a long tshirt. That way, even if the baby comes out preemie or overlarge, it still fits. Plus, no snaps to change the diaper. Speaking of diapers....man they go through a lot!

:)

I can see you're already trying to bundle and protect that little girl.

I kept my babies in those long gowns with the drawstring that, I think, Go Mama is referring to. My daughter was able to wear them well into toddlehood. I don't know if they even make them any more. Onesies have become the essential baby garment. Such an exciting time.
