Scraping Up an Attitude of Gratitude

Putting up my Christmas tree last night, composing a blog post in my head: There's nothing as sad as putting up a Christmas tree alone, I imagined writing.

And then I started to hear the melodramatic music playing at the pity party I was throwing for myself. Of course there are sadder things than putting up a Christmas tree alone. Like not having a tree at all, or not having a home to put one in.

So today I'm working on my attitude, reminding myself of the things for which I am grateful. It's a long, long list.

Let's have coffee in the morning, yes? Long distance is a state of mind only.

A sister held in the heart isn't far off at all.

That's the spirit Jerri. Enjoy your peace and alone time. I sure wish I had some. Remember how you were hiding out in the closet a few months back...

You may be by yourself, but you are never alone.

Love.

You are not alone

Ok, let's just say that it does suck to put up a tree alone. And then there's that awareness that opens you to you life, just as it is.

I used to suffer about being so alone during the holidays, then I'd pick up a Rumi book, read some Rilke, and my night would be transformed.

A good book of poems goes a long way...so does friendship. Love.

You are at the top of my list of gratitudes. So sorry that life is still dark for you. I'm here loving you and praying for you.

This is SO what I needed to hear...I have been so very down and unable to get to the gratitude. i keep reminding myself but it aint comin easily. It helps to hear someone else struggling with the same.

It was a frowny week. Many around me have the blues. I'm sorry you're down; happy you're looking for ways to turn it around.

Full moon is coming! Maybe you'll feel better then. Sending love, xo tg

Yeah, it's been a very rough week, and I am just today getting to some gratitude. Sometimes it takes a little while, but we find it.

Hope you are enjoying your Christmas tree, and your Christmas.

Big love.
